Euronext Securities Oslo market value falls 11.8% in Q2 2026
The market value of securities registered on Euronext Securities Oslo fell by 11.8 percent during the second quarter of 2026, totaling 584 billion NOK. The total market value of all registered securities stood at 8,350 billion NOK, representing a 4.2 percent decline from the previous quarter.
Geopolitical uncertainty, particularly in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz, contributed to market volatility and fluctuations in oil prices. This instability significantly impacted energy stocks, which drove a large portion of the decline in listed equity value. Conversely, the market value of central bank certificates increased by 48 percent, or 79 billion NOK, due to issuances by Norges Bank to manage liquidity.
Individual company performances showed mixed results during the earnings season. Höegh Autoliners saw a continued decline following a dividend cut, while Scatec reported weaker revenues and a pre-tax loss of 106 million NOK, impacted by tax changes in the Philippines. In contrast, the shipping company Odfjell reported increased revenues and pre-tax profits of 54 million USD, up from 40 million USD the previous year.
