Europa Open Air concert draws thousands to Frankfurt

The eighth Europa Open Air concert, organized by the hr-Sinfonieorchester and the European Central Bank, took place on August 20, 2026, at the Weseler Werft on the Main river in Frankfurt.

Approximately 10,000 spectators gathered at the venue, with many others watching from nearby bridges, boats, and balconies. The event featured a diverse musical program including jazz and classical performances. The evening began with the hr-Bigband and Grammy-winning baritone Kurt Elling under the direction of Jörg Achim Keller. This was followed by the hr-Sinfonieorchester, led by Alain Altinoglu, featuring accordionist Richard Galliano performing the Opale Concerto.
