Europa-Park celebrates Roller Coaster Day with 14 attractions

Europa-Park, Germany's largest amusement park, is celebrating Roller Coaster Day on Sunday, August 16. The event commemorates the 1898 patenting of the first roller coaster with a looping mechanism.

To mark the occasion, the park is hosting various activities, including a Facebook contest for park tickets and VIP access to the new Voltron Nevera coaster. The park features 14 different roller coasters, ranging from the 73-meter-high Silver Star to newer innovations.

The high number of attractions is linked to the park's owner, the Mack family, who also operate Mack Rides, one of the world's five largest roller coaster manufacturers. The family business has a long history dating back to 1780, evolving from producing stagecoaches to building wooden roller coasters in 1921.
