Europe faces political shifts amid rising far-right influence
Europe is experiencing significant political shifts as far-right parties gain influence across the continent. In Germany, the AfD achieved a major victory in Saxony-Anhalt, while in Berlin, the left-wing Die Linke emerged as a dominant force following recent elections.
Over the next 18 months, approximately 12 major electoral contests are expected to reshape the European political landscape. These include upcoming votes in Spain, France, Italy, and Poland, among others. In Spain, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has called for early elections scheduled for November 29, facing challenges from right-wing opponents like Vox.
Political analysts are monitoring whether traditional centrist forces can counter the momentum of far-right movements, such as Marine Le Pen’s strengthened position in France, or if the continent is heading toward a deep political realignment driven by social pressure and geopolitical crises.
