Europe is facing a significant jet fuel supply shortage, with analysts from Energy Aspects forecasting a daily deficit of 510,000 barrels in the fourth quarter. This shortage is driven by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, which have disrupted approximately half of Europe's traditional jet fuel imports.

To mitigate these disruptions, European buyers are increasingly turning to distant suppliers. South Korea has emerged as a major new source, with imports reaching 129,000 barrels per day in September, the highest level since October 2022. Additionally, Europe is ramping up imports from Nigeria, the United States, and Canada to stabilize its supply.

Inventory levels are also under pressure. Stocks at the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and storage hub fell to a seven-year low during the week ending September 10. While the Asia-Pacific region and the United States are expected to maintain surpluses, the widening price gap between Asian and European markets is making long-distance exports to Europe more profitable for traders.
