Flavored instant noodles linked to salmonella outbreak in 14 European nations

European food‑safety authorities (EFSA) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) have confirmed a multi‑country outbreak of salmonella infections tied to flavored instant noodles. A total of 106 cases have been reported across Austria, the United Kingdom, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Sweden, with at least 49 patients—predominantly children and young adults—requiring hospital treatment.

Investigations point to products from a single brand produced by the Ukrainian manufacturer Euro Food Service for Reeva Foods. The contaminant has been identified as the Salmonella Stanley strain. Reeva Foods has initiated an internal probe, withdrawn the affected batches from the Baltic market and implemented additional laboratory testing, regulatory audits and environmental monitoring. Health agencies continue to monitor the situation and advise anyone who has consumed the implicated noodles and shows symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, vomiting or abdominal cramps to seek medical care.
