Europe seeks economic resilience amid shifting globalization

Zygmunt Berdychowski, Chairman of the Program Council of the Economic Forum in Karpacz, argues that the era of unbridled globalization is ending. He suggests that the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent energy crises have demonstrated the risks of over-reliance on extended global supply chains.

To ensure economic and state security, Berdychowski advocates for shortening supply chains by moving production closer to consumer markets. He emphasizes that the European Union must secure access to critical raw materials and metals to remain competitive against major economies like the United States, China, and India.

Key recommendations for European economic resilience include rebuilding domestic production capacities, reducing dependence on external suppliers, and implementing deregulation to foster competitiveness.
