Europe transitions to winter time, increasing time difference with Turkey
Most European countries have transitioned to winter time by setting clocks back one hour from 03:00 to 02:00. This seasonal change affects time differences between Europe and Turkey, as Turkey has maintained a permanent daylight saving time (GMT+3) since 2016.
As a result of this shift, the time difference between Turkey and countries such as Germany has increased from one hour to two hours. While the European Parliament has seen support for abolishing seasonal time changes, member states have not reached a consensus, meaning the biannual adjustment continues.
Users are cautioned regarding electronic devices. Smartphones and computers set to 'automatic' time updates may incorrectly adjust their clocks to match European standards, potentially causing discrepancies for those in Turkey.
