European airlines receive industry awards for service and connectivity

Volotea has been named Europe’s best low-cost airline for 2026 at the 33rd World Travel Awards held in Montenegro. This marks the fifth time the Spanish carrier has received this distinction, following previous wins in 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025. The award recognizes the airline’s strategy of connecting regional capitals and mid-sized European cities.

Separately, Transavia was honored with the Airline Award at the Routes World event in Frankfurt. The award, presented by an independent jury of industry professionals, recognizes the airline’s excellence in route development, network growth, and collaboration with regional partners, particularly in the Netherlands and Belgium. Transavia was noted for maintaining all fourteen routes launched over the past two years and for its successful marketing initiatives with airports and tourism boards.
