European airport Fast Lanes significantly reduce passenger wait times

An analysis by AirHelp reveals that Fast Lane services at major European airports can significantly reduce waiting times, though the time saved varies greatly by location. Across Europe, the average time saved is nearly 40 minutes.

Barcelona offers the highest time savings at up to 92 minutes, followed by London Stansted (79 minutes), Manchester (76 minutes), and Madrid and Palma de Mallorca (73 minutes each). In Germany, the average time saved is approximately 25 minutes. Frankfurt leads among German airports with a 41-minute reduction in average maximum wait times, followed by Hamburg at 36 minutes. In contrast, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart offer savings of only 12 minutes.

Fast Lane services are increasingly common, with 19 of the 30 airports studied offering access regardless of airline or travel class. While 16 of these airports charge for the service, it is provided free of charge in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Amsterdam. Notably, Munich and Berlin Brandenburg (BER) do not have regular Fast Lane access available for all passengers according to the study criteria.
