European Alliance launched to reduce bureaucratic burdens

Italian Minister for Institutional Reforms and Regulatory Simplification, Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, has joined the launch of the Alliance for the Reduction of Bureaucratic Burdens in Brussels. The initiative, promoted by Austria, aims to establish a permanent network among European countries dedicated to simplifying national and EU-level regulations.

Casellati emphasized that reducing bureaucratic burdens is a political priority essential for boosting competitiveness, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). She noted that the alliance responds to calls from European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to avoid overly burdensome transpositions of EU norms into national laws. The alliance seeks to foster cooperation, share best practices, and allow Member States to influence EU legislation more effectively during the drafting process rather than only after implementation.
