European and North American media companies unite in AI coalition

Around thirty media companies from Europe and North America joined a coalition co‑founded by British news organisations including the BBC, Sky News and The Guardian. The alliance was announced at a conference and aims to strengthen the sector’s position against artificial‑intelligence technologies and to secure fair compensation for the use of its content.

The participating firms seek to coordinate their response to AI‑driven content aggregation and to negotiate terms that protect the value of journalistic work in the digital environment.
