European Aquatics Championships: Czech swimmers reach 100m freestyle final

The European Aquatics Championships in Paris have commenced with several notable performances and championship records. In the women’s 100m freestyle, Czech swimmers Barbora Seemanová and Barbora Janíčková both qualified for the final. Seemanová secured the fifth qualifying spot with a time of 53.52, finishing just 0.02 seconds shy of her personal best. Janíčková advanced in eighth place with a time of 53.62.

In the men’s 400m individual medley, Ilija Borodin set a new championship record with a time of 4:08.17, taking gold in the absence of French champion Léon Marchand. Alberto Razzetti of Italy earned silver, while Max Litchfield of Great Britain took bronze.

Great Britain also dominated the relay events, setting championship records in both the men’s and women’s 4x200m freestyle. The men’s team, consisting of Matthew Richards, Jack McMillan, James Guy, and Duncan Scott, clocked 7:01.52. The women’s team, featuring Freya Colbert, Abbie Wood, Leah Schlosshanin, and Freya Anderson, won with a time of 7:45.93.
