European Aquatics Championships results and upcoming swimming symposium

The European Aquatics Championships in Paris have highlighted significant achievements in international swimming. Hungarian athlete Hubert Kós secured three gold medals, including a European record in the 200m backstroke and a victory in the 200m individual medley. The Hungarian 4x100m freestyle relay team, featuring Kós, Nándor Németh, Szebasztián Szabó, and Kristóf Milák, set a new European record with a time of 3:10.03. Olympic champion Kristóf Milák also earned gold in the 100m butterfly with a European record of 49.48 seconds.

In Germany, Johannes Liebmann demonstrated dominance in the 1500m freestyle. Following these competitive successes, the German Swimming Association (DSV) has announced the Science in Swimming Symposium, scheduled for November 20–21, 2026, in Cologne. The event aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical training. Keynote speakers, including German national coach Bernd Berkhahn, will discuss training methodologies and season planning to assist professional coaches.
