European Brass Band Association announces competition details
The European Brass Band Association (EBBA) has announced details for upcoming competitive events. The 10th European Composers Competition will be held in Montreux, Switzerland, as part of the 48th European Championships. The competition invites original compositions for brass bands with a maximum duration of 12 minutes. Eligible applicants must have been born on or after January 1, 1992, and the deadline for entries is January 15, 2027.
Financial awards for the composers include a first-place prize of 2,500 EUR, a second-place prize of 2,000 EUR, and a third-place prize of 1,500 EUR. Additional prizes include a 500 EUR Band Prize and a 500 EUR Audience Prize. The final round is scheduled for April 29, where a Championship level band will perform the new works.
Additionally, the EBBA has announced the jury panels for the 2026 European Brass Band Festival in Linz, Austria. The festival will include the European Brass Band Championships, the European Soloist Competition, and the European Youth Brass Band Contest. The judging panels for these events feature international experts from countries including Austria, Italy, Scotland, Norway, England, and Belgium.
