European business leaders strengthen investment ties in Colombia

Business leaders and diplomats are working to strengthen economic ties between Colombia and European entities. Narciso Casado, representing CEOE Internacional and the Consejo de Empresarios Iberoamericanos (CEIB), led a delegation to Colombia to foster strategic alliances and prepare for the XXX Ibero-American Summit. The mission focused on using the Spain-Colombia axis as a global business platform and included meetings with Colombia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Sandra Carvajal, as well as representatives from the National Association of Businessmen (ANDI) and ProColombia.

In a separate but related context, the European Union Ambassador to Colombia, François Roudié, highlighted that European companies account for approximately one-third of Colombia’s total foreign direct investment. Speaking at the Andesco Congress in Cartagena, Roudié identified the energy sector and public services as critical areas for investment. He noted that regulatory conditions and social cohesion remain vital factors for Colombia to maintain its competitiveness in attracting international capital.
