European car market sees decline in models under 20,000 euros
The availability of new cars priced under 20,000 euros is declining across European markets. An analysis by the German automobile club ADAC reveals that the number of established models available in this price bracket in Germany has dropped from 35 in 2021 to just 16 currently.
In this competitive segment, the Renault Clio (specifically the Evolution TCe 115 version) is highlighted by experts as a strong value proposition due to its fuel efficiency and equipment levels. Other models remaining within or near this budget include the Seat Ibiza, Seat Arona, Skoda Fabia, Volkswagen Polo, and Opel Corsa.
While brands like Seat and Skoda offer models in this range, many previously popular options have either disappeared or seen price increases. The market for very low-cost vehicles, such as those under 10,000 euros, is described as a thing of the past.
