European Centre of Performing Arts launches 2027 pilot residency

The European Centre of Performing Arts (ECP-Arts) has announced its inaugural Pilot Edition 2027. This four-week residency for emerging opera singers is scheduled to run from May 24 to June 18, 2027, spanning locations in Germany and Italy.

Based in Magdeburg, the program will include three weeks of residency in Germany followed by a final week in Tuscany. The curriculum consists of approximately 149 hours of training, covering repertoire masterclasses, individual voice coaching, stagecraft, and language and diction instruction in both Italian and German. The program also offers instruction in opera management and career development.

The residency will conclude with two public performances: a recital in Germany and a closing concert at the Teatro Comunale Marchionneschi in Tuscany. Founder Danny Matz noted that participants will have the opportunity to perform on public stages and meet industry agents and casting directors.
