European Championships: Linda Roth places fourth in swimming as Mörz reaches gymnastics final

At the European Championships in Paris, German swimmer Linda Roth secured a fourth-place finish in the 200m freestyle final with a time of 1:56.71. In the semifinals, Roth clocked 1:56.46, a time faster than the former record held by German swimming legend Franziska van Almsick. The gold medal was won by Czech swimmer Barbora Seemanova, who set a new championship record of 1:54.38, narrowly beating Marrit Steenbergen of the Netherlands. Freya Colbert of Great Britain took the bronze.

In gymnastics, Austrian athlete Mörz qualified for her first European Championship final following strong performances on the vault. The qualification was led by Russia's Angelina Melnikova, followed by defending champion Karina Schönmaier. The Austrian women's team finished 19th in the team standings, missing the top 13 required to qualify for the World Championships in Rotterdam.

Additionally, 17-year-old Austrian gymnast Rosa Schwaninger is making her European Championship debut. Preparing in Linz, Schwaninger expressed her goal of helping the Austrian team reach the top 13 to secure a World Championship berth.
