European Championships produce medal successes for German swimmers and Austrian water skiers

German junior swimmer Julia Ackermann captured the Knockout Sprint title at the Junior European Championships in Hungary and secured gold in the mixed 4 × 1.5 km relay with fellow SC Magdeburg athletes. Her teammate Johannes Liebmann earned a silver medal in the same sprint event and will join the senior German team at the upcoming European Championships in Paris.

In the water‑ski European Championships held in Poti, Georgia, Austria’s Nikolaus Attensam finished fifth in the slalom, narrowly missing a higher place after a half‑buoy mistake. Luca Rauchenwald claimed gold in the jump discipline, while the Austrian team achieved a strong fourth‑place overall finish. Young Austrian competitor Katherina Hafner placed fifth in the jump and seventh in the combined standings, setting sights on the U21 European Championships in Bremerhaven.
