European cities gather in Ireland for URBACT University 2026

Municipal representatives from Spain participated in the URBACT University 2026 event held in Cork, Ireland. The gathering serves as a primary training and exchange platform for the 25 European Transfer Networks within the URBACT program, bringing together professionals to share methodologies for urban management and cooperation.

The City Council of Onda attended to strengthen international cooperation networks and integrate innovative methodologies into municipal management. Onda is currently a leader in the CivicHeritage network, focusing on urban regeneration through the reuse of cultural heritage, and is also involved in the Olympics4All network.

Additionally, the Mancomunitat Comarcal de la Marina Alta (MACMA) participated to support the RESTART@URBACT project. The delegation aims to acquire tools to attract population and talent to the region, specifically focusing on adapting successful practices from other European contexts, such as Idanha-a-Nova in Portugal, to the local reality of the Marina Alta region.
