European Classic Car Rallies Launch in August 2026
The Automobilclub von Deutschland (AvD) and Auriga Historic will run the AvD‑Histo‑Tour from 5 to 7 August 2026, a historic‑vehicle rally that traverses Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. After technical checks at the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife, participants will race on the Grand‑Prix circuit, then continue to Spa‑Francorchamps and finish in Maastricht. The entry list includes 46 cars such as a 1965 Sunbeam Tiger, a Lancia Beta Montecarlo replica, two 1964 Porsche 356 C and SC models, and a Volvo PV 544 driven by motorsport commentator Martin Utberg. AvD brand ambassador Christian Danner, a former F1 driver, will also take part.
Meanwhile, the 23rd Sachsen Classic Rallye will be held on 14‑15 August 2026, shortened to two days and offering reduced entry fees for under‑35 teams. The event welcomes Young‑timer cars up to model year 2006 and allows the use of apps for navigation. Notable entrants include a 1924 Cunningham V5 Special, a 1977 Melkus RS 1000, and a 1964 Ferrari 250 GTL. The rally runs through the scenic landscapes of Saxony and Bohemia, with a limited number of start slots still available for interested competitors.
