European clubs chase signings as top players stay free agents
A number of high‑profile footballers remain without clubs as the new season approaches. Mohamed Salah, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jadon Sancho, Dusan Vlahovic, Julian Brandt and several others such as Fabinho, John Stones and Yves Bissouma are listed as transfer‑free, prompting clubs to consider them for upcoming squads.
Belgian side Union Saint‑Gilloise has been active in the summer market, adding seven new players. The club secured Belgian youngster Ilan Hurtevent from KV Kortrijk and South African winger Relebohile Mofokeng, a World Cup participant. Union also made an unsuccessful €2 million bid for Bosnian striker Samed Bazdar of Real Zaragoza, who featured briefly at the World Cup. Further targets linked to Union include Promise David, Kevin Rodriguez and Marc Giger, while clubs such as Sturm Graz and AIK monitor the situation.
