European clubs negotiate high‑profile player transfers ahead of 2026 World Cup

Turkish side Beşiktaş is moving closer to signing Egypt captain Mohamed Salah after a dispute over the player's agent commission was resolved. The club previously rejected a 35% demand and is now said to have agreed on a 12% fee, paving the way for a possible winter arrival.

In Italy, Serie A club Como has improved its offer for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah to €25 million plus up to €5 million in add‑ons. At the same time, Inter Milan is in talks with Tottenham Hotspur about centre‑back Cristian Romero, urging the English club to lower the €50 million asking price to around €35‑40 million.
