European Commission notes progress in Greece's CAP fund management
The European Commission has noted significant progress in Greece regarding the implementation of the Action Plan to improve the management of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) funds. According to the Commission, the Greek government has taken “decisive measures” and is treating the issue with “particular seriousness.”
While progress has been observed, the Commission clarified that “there is still work to be done.” Officials emphasized that recent communications regarding the matter are preliminary, administrative, and technical steps rather than a final position. This process is part of the standard monitoring procedure applied to all member states and addresses issues stemming from the past.
The Commission described the ongoing cooperation between Greek authorities and European services as “very constructive,” noting that Greek authorities provide regular updates on the implementation of the Action Plan.
