European Commission releases daylight saving schedule through 2031
The European Commission has released the official schedule for daylight saving time transitions through 2031. Under current European Union regulations, clocks will continue to be adjusted twice a year—once in March and once in October.
While there has been ongoing debate and various proposals to abolish seasonal time changes to improve energy efficiency and human biorhythms, member states have yet to reach a consensus on whether to adopt permanent summer or winter time. Consequently, the Commission has published the upcoming schedule based on existing rules to ensure coordinated operations across the EU.
The scheduled transitions for the coming years include: - 2027: March 28 and October 31 - 2028: March 26 and October 29 - 2029: March 25 and October 28 - 2030: March 31 and October 27 - 2031: March 30 and October 26
This schedule is not a permanent decision; if new EU regulations are adopted before 2031, the practice of biannual clock changes could be discontinued sooner.
