European Court of Auditors criticizes untested EU cyber defense system
The European Court of Auditors (ECA) has released a report stating that the European Union’s new cyber defense measures have not been properly tested. Despite an investment of over one billion euros, there are concerns regarding whether the system functions effectively.
Following the implementation of the EU Cyber Solidarity Act in February 2025, the European Cybersecurity Alert System was established as a collective alarm system to strengthen the Union's ability to detect, prepare for, and manage cyber threats. However, the ECA report highlights a lack of oversight to ensure the system's operational readiness.
