European cycling and walking routes highlighted in new guides

New travel guides and routes highlight outdoor tourism in Central and Southern Europe. The Aquavelo cycling route in Slovakia offers a path from the Polish border through the High Tatras to the Dunajec River gorges. The route features a mix of asphalt and gravel, passing through locations such as Bardejov, Jaworki, and Szczawnica, with additional loops around Štrbské Pleso and Liptovský Hrádok.

Additionally, a new 110-kilometer walking guide titled ‘Il Sentiero Beato Bonifacio’ has been released. Curated by Diego Masiello, the guide outlines a six-stage journey connecting Trieste, Italy, to Novigrad, Croatia, via Slovenia. The trail traverses coastal and inland landscapes, including Muggia, Koper, and Piran. The route serves as a memorial to Don Francesco Bonifacio, a priest who worked toward coexistence between Italian and Slavic communities in Istria before his death in 1946.
