European Day of Jewish Culture 2026 to focus on theme of love
The 2026 European Day of Jewish Culture, scheduled for September 6, will center on the theme of “Ahavà – Love” across various European cities.
In Genoa, the event will be hosted at the Genoa Synagogue. The program includes institutional greetings, a discussion on love as a commandment and spiritual experience led by Rabbi Giuseppe Momigliano, and an exhibition titled “The presence of Jews in the world through Ketubbot.” This exhibition will feature Jewish marriage contracts dating from the 1600s to the early 1900s, serving as historical and artistic records of Jewish communities worldwide.
In Munich, the celebrations will take place at the Jewish Community Center. Activities include synagogue tours, a book and CD flea market, and kosher dining at Restaurant Einstein. A featured literary event will include a reading by Israeli bestselling crime novelist Dror Mishani to present his new novel, “Nicht,” moderated by journalist Richard C. Schneider.
