European Day of Jewish Culture to celebrate theme of Love in Italy
The 27th edition of the European Day of Jewish Culture will take place on September 6, focusing on the theme of ‘Love’. The event is promoted by the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage and coordinated in Italy by the Unione delle Comunità Ebraiche Italiane.
Bologna will serve as the lead city for the celebrations, hosting a dense calendar of events. Across more than one hundred locations in Italy, the program will include the opening of synagogues and museums, guided tours, musical performances, theater, and kosher tastings to showcase the history and traditions of the Jewish minority.
In Rome, the Jewish Community will offer a program spanning the ancient Jewish quarter to the Ostia Antica Synagogue. Discussions will explore spiritual, ethical, and literary dimensions of love in Jewish tradition, featuring contributors such as Chief Rabbi of Rome, Rav Riccardo Di Segni, and various scholars and psychoanalysts.
