European Drama Encounters 2026 Youth Camp Launches in Izmir

The 2026 International Drama Camp, part of the European Drama Encounters (EDERED), opened at the Özdere 100th Youth and Sports Campus in Izmir. The event is organized through a partnership between the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and the Çağdaş Drama Association, bringing together young participants from several European countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany and Greece.

The camp aims to foster intercultural interaction and learning through creative drama activities. Participants such as 16‑year‑old Ece Karaarslan expressed enthusiasm, saying, “I want to meet new cultures and improve my English,” while her father Reşit Karaarslan pledged full support. Organisers highlight the program’s role in expanding cultural horizons and building international friendships among youth.

The initiative is part of a broader effort by İzmir’s Cultural, Arts and Social Services Directorate to promote cultural exchange and artistic development for young people across Europe.
