European Economic and Social Committee supports North Macedonia's EU path
Bekim Sali, North Macedonia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European Affairs, met with Seamus Boland, President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), during an official visit to Brussels. The discussions focused on social dialogue, the role of civil society, and the country's integration process into the European Union.
Sali emphasized that European integration should not be limited to administrative communication between institutions. He stated that the process must connect citizens, workers, businesses, and civil society directly to European decision-making to ensure real opportunities and a stronger voice for the population.
Seamus Boland expressed strong institutional support for North Macedonia's EU membership, noting that the EESC represents trade unions, employers, and civil society organizations. Boland highlighted that these sectors play a crucial role in the enlargement process and announced plans for an official visit to the country.
