European festivals present Verdi's La Traviata

A performance of Giuseppe Verdi's opera *La Traviata* was staged at the historic castle in Eppstein, Germany, as part of the town's long‑running opera series. The production featured local singers such as Diana Naatz as Violetta and Marco Antonio Rivera as Alfredo, and continued the tradition of outdoor performances that began two decades ago.

At the Bregenz Festival on Lake Constance, the opera was mounted on a monumental lake stage. Directors Damiano Michieletto and Paolo Fantin used a 700‑square‑metre mirror set that shattered into 86 pieces to symbolize Violetta’s fate, creating a striking visual landmark for the two‑year run of the production. Musical direction was provided by Kirill Karabits.

Both events highlight the continued popularity of *La Traviata* in European cultural venues, combining classic repertoire with innovative staging techniques.
