European food innovation and science events scheduled for October

The Ecotrophelia Europa 2026 final will take place at SIAL Paris on October 18 and 19. The competition features 17 teams from different countries presenting innovative food proposals to an international jury. Representing Spain is a team from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) with ‘Cal. litos’, a snack designed to reduce food waste by utilizing pumpkin.

In France, the Fête de la Science 2026 will be held in Rumilly from October 2 to 12. This year’s theme, ‘savory flavors’, explores the scientific dimensions of food, taste, and cooking. The program includes exhibitions, conferences, documentary screenings, and workshops such as the ‘Agri-curieux’ session at the Musée Notre Histoire, which focuses on plant biology and cultivation.
