European football jersey prices rise 25% over ten years

An analysis of the five major European football leagues reveals a significant rise in the cost of replica jerseys over the last decade. The average price for the most affordable replica version has reached 92.7 euros, up from 74 euros in the 2016/17 season, representing a 25% overall increase.

The Premier League experienced the highest growth rate, with prices jumping 48% from 63 to 93 euros. La Liga remains the most affordable major league with an average of 88.3 euros.

In Italy, the cost of a jersey impacts fans more heavily due to purchasing power; the expense represents 3.4% of the average monthly gross salary, compared to 3.1% in Spain, 2.6% in France, and 2.1% in the Premier League and Bundesliga. While some Serie A clubs like Napoli, Fiorentina, and Torino offer entry-level replicas for under 60 euros, others like Udinese see base prices reaching 99 euros.
