European funds drive regional development in Slovakia and Czech Republic

European Union funds are being utilized for significant regional development projects in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

In Slovakia, 26.4 million euros have been allocated to various regional needs. Key projects include the construction of a modern vocational training center for new technologies, the completion of a cycle path to Kráľova hoľa, and the revitalization of the Čiernohronská railway. Additionally, investments will support school yard modernizations in the Bratislava region and green infrastructure projects, such as the Voderady Eco Park and the Váh cycle highway in the Trnava region.

In the Czech Republic, the Brno Metropolitan Area has utilized 7.9 billion CZK of its 8 billion CZK allocation through the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI) tool. The current programming period (2021–2027) has supported 135 projects, including tram loop construction, new kindergartens, and cultural heritage preservation. The Steering Committee also discussed social housing initiatives in Přibyslavice and Zbraslav, which aim to create 22 new social apartments.
