European Heritage Days 2026 concludes in Poland
The 2026 edition of European Heritage Days has concluded in Poland, centered around the theme ‘Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine,’ as established by the Council of Europe. The celebrations spanned various regions, focusing on architecture, landscapes, local history, and intangible traditions such as music, regional cuisine, and traditional crafts.
In Częstocice, the Historical and Archaeological Museum and Krzemionki Reserve hosted events including a nature conference and demonstrations of ancient iron processing using a bloomery furnace. This demonstration took place near archaeological remains of a Przeworsk culture settlement dating back 2,000 years. Other activities included prehistoric pottery workshops using the ancient tape-and-slide technique, as well as educational programs at the Wielopolski Palace involving film projections and lectures.
