European Heritage Days 2026 focus on Monaco and Italy

The 2026 European Heritage Days will feature significant cultural events in Monaco and Italy.

In Monaco, the 31st edition of the event is scheduled for early October, involving 48 sites across various districts. Coordinated by the Direction des Affaires Culturelles, the theme is ‘Patrimoine en péril : raviver, résister, réinventer’. Programs include guided tours of Monte-Carlo to explore its urban transformation since the Belle Époque, as well as historical walks through Monaco-Ville to examine the principality's ancient architecture and traditions.

In Sarroch, Italy, the restoration of Villa Siotto was presented during the European Heritage Days. Recent recovery efforts have focused on internal frescoes, facades, the roof, and the balcony. Local officials and the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio di Cagliari highlighted the need for continued work on the villa's park and the establishment of architectural and landscape protections to ensure the site's future preservation.
