Heritage celebrations scheduled across Europe and Canada for 2026
Various regions across Europe and Canada are preparing for the 2026 heritage celebrations. In France, the European Heritage Days will feature themes such as ‘Photography Heritage’ and ‘Heritage in Peril’. Notable events include the Grande Loge de France opening 25 temples to the public, though no sites are scheduled in the Côte-d’Or region. Other highlights include guided tours of the Château des Barons du Pont in Pont-l’Abbé, historical visits in Remiremont, and a special banquet at the Domaine national de Chambord.
In Belgium, Arlon will host free guided tours of Saint-Martin’s stained glass and the Tontelange mill. Meanwhile, in Quebec, Canada, the Heritage Week will offer archaeological workshops, stone-cutting demonstrations, and musical performances at the Îlot des Palais.
Additional local programming includes geological site visits in Gagny and various cultural activities in Sainte-Adresse and Saint-Sever-de-Rustan, where visitors can observe ongoing restoration work at the historic abbey.
