European Heritage Days 2026 to feature cultural events in Poland
The 2026 European Heritage Days will feature various cultural activities across Poland, focusing on the theme ‘Future of the Past. Heritage at Risk’.
In Szydłowiec, the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments will offer free admission on September 19-20. The event includes a popular science meeting titled ‘Builders of Folk Musical Instruments’ to discuss the history and continuation of instrument making in Poland. Additionally, documentary films regarding contemporary folk instrument builders will be screened at the Szydłowiec Castle.
At the Ducal Tower in Siedlęcin, activities will center on the historical use of wood. Programs include family workshops exploring wood as a construction material and presentations on volunteer projects that utilized traditional carpentry and blacksmithing methods to reconstruct historical furniture. Guided tours will also be available to discuss the history of the site's architecture.
