European Heritage Days feature photography and architecture events
As part of the 43rd edition of the European Heritage Days, various cultural events are taking place across France, focusing on the themes of photographic heritage and endangered architectural assets.
In Réunion, historian Bernard Leveneur, the new head of the Regional Inventory Service, will lead a conference in Saint-Gilles-les-Bains. His presentation, titled ‘From the Pioneers of Photography to the Inventory of France’s Artistic Riches (1861-1976)’, explores the intersection of photography and architecture. Leveneur is currently working to restructure the regional inventory service and revitalize historical databases.
In Clisson, Loire-Atlantique, Antoine Lemerle is holding his first solo photography exhibition at the Villa Dona, a neo-classical house built in the 1860s. Lemerle, a business manager who transitioned into amateur photography through mentorship, specializes in wildlife and bird photography.
