European Heritage Days launch in Poland
The European Heritage Days have commenced under the theme ‘The Future of the Past. Heritage at Risk,’ focusing on the importance of preserving cultural history for future generations.
In Bydgoszcz, the regional edition in Kujawsko-Pomorskie was inaugurated at the Bydgoszcz Water Tower, a site cited as a successful example of technical monument revitalization. The event included lectures, musical performances, and the presentation of a new guide dedicated to regional technical monuments.
In Wrocław, the State Archive organized a guided walk through the Nadodrze district. The tour highlighted both lost and surviving historical sites, including former manufactories, service establishments, and the remains of the Redeemer Church. The event concluded with a discussion regarding contemporary threats to historical monuments and the role of archives in the preservation process.
