European hockey sees major transfers and leadership changes

Several professional ice hockey transfers and leadership changes have been announced across European leagues.

In Switzerland, EHC Biel has signed former NHL star Jeff Skinner, who joins the club after 1,110 NHL games and 16 seasons in the league. Skinner, a former Calder Trophy winner, most recently played for the San Jose Sharks.

In Denmark, Sønderjyske has strengthened its roster with two signings: defender Alexander Munksgaard from Norway’s Kristiansund and defenseman Alexander Ytterell, who returns to Scandinavia after playing in Hungary.

In Sweden, Björklöven has appointed Lucas Wallmark as the new team captain ahead of their return to the SHL after a 25-year absence. Wallmark, who signed a six-year contract, succeeds Axel Ottosson, who will move into an assistant captain role.
