European Jewish Culture Day to feature events in Siena and Carmagnola

The 27th edition of the European Jewish Culture Day will take place on September 6 and 7, 2026, focusing on the theme of ‘Love.’ The initiative, coordinated by the Union of Italian Jewish Communities, aims to promote knowledge of Jewish history and heritage by opening synagogues and museums to the public.

In Siena, events will be centered at the Vicolo delle Scotte Jewish complex. The program includes a free exhibition titled ‘Shir HaShirim – The Song of Songs and its Love Stories,’ curated by the National Library of Israel, as well as talks on Jewish marriage customs in Italy and Hebrew calligraphy workshops. Guided tours of the Siena synagogue are also scheduled.

In Carmagnola, the local synagogue and ancient ghetto will host free guided tours on Sunday, September 6, from 10:00 to 19:00. These tours are open to the public without the need for prior reservation.
