Tivat hosts international conference on constitution and democracy
Tivat, Montenegro, is hosting the international conference ‘On the Constitution, State, and Democracy,’ organized by the Constitutional Court of Montenegro and the Ministry of European Affairs. The event, held from October 1 to 3, commemorates 20 years of constitutionalism in independent Montenegro.
The conference brings together high-level European judicial figures, including presidents and vice-presidents of European constitutional courts, judges from the Court of Justice of the European Union, representatives from the European Court of Human Rights, and members of the Venice Commission. Key speakers include Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, Constitutional Court President Snežana Armenko, and European Court of Human Rights President Mattias Guyomar.
Discussions focus on the challenges of European integration, the relationship between national constitutional orders and EU law, and the impact of artificial intelligence on constitutional courts. The gathering is also part of the ‘Wider Europe – Stronger Europe’ EU enlargement forum.
