European leaders and NATO officials have condemned a series of Russian provocations in the Baltic region. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen characterized recent incidents as part of a 'broader pattern of Russian aggression' intended to test European determination.

In the Baltic Sea, a Danish military helicopter was targeted by two signal flares fired from a Russian warship during a routine surveillance operation in international waters. The Danish government described the incident as 'unacceptable and dangerous.'

Simultaneously, a drone entered Lithuanian airspace from Belarus and was intercepted and destroyed by an Italian Eurofighter Typhoon participating in NATO's Baltic Air Policing mission. Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto stated the drone most likely originated from Russia. Lithuanian authorities reported that debris analysis indicated the craft may have been carrying an explosive charge.
