European manufacturers accelerate AI, cloud and IoT adoption to boost productivity

European industry is rapidly integrating advanced digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing and the Internet of Things to raise productivity, cut costs and improve competitiveness. Companies are using data‑driven solutions to automate processes, enable predictive maintenance, monitor assets in real time and support faster decision‑making. Deloitte reports that smart‑manufacturing initiatives have already delivered up to 20 % gains in output and employee productivity, while 92 % of surveyed manufacturers see smart factories as the main competitiveness driver in the next three years. KPMG notes that 76 % of firms in the sector are strongly inclined to adopt cutting‑edge technology, with 34 % already seeing return on investment from AI use cases. The World Economic Forum highlights AI’s role in optimizing production lines, reducing emissions and enhancing quality control, while McKinsey cites generative AI as a tool to accelerate data analysis and improve equipment reliability. Together, AI, cloud and IoT are reshaping European manufacturing toward more connected, automated and sustainable operations.
