Ibex 35 falls 3.12% in weekly slump amid economic shifts

The Ibex 35 experienced its worst weekly performance since April, falling 3.12% to close at 19,085.3 points. This decline was driven by volatility in bond markets and a downturn in the banking sector.

In Spain, official data from the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy showed that registered unemployment rose by 23,587 people in September, a 1% increase from August. Conversely, the Social Security system saw an average increase of 92,327 contributors during the same month.

Globally, the G7 nations announced the immediate release of 100 million barrels of crude oil and diesel over the next four months. In the United States, the labor market showed signs of moderation as only 29,000 new jobs were added in September, compared to 133,000 in August.

Economic indicators remain a primary focus for investors, with Eurozone inflation for September reported at 3.8%. Markets are also closely monitoring upcoming Federal Reserve meeting minutes and US consumer sentiment data to gauge the impact of persistent inflation and interest rate policies.
