European Men's Volleyball Championship sees high ticket sales in Tampere

The European Men's Volleyball Championship hosted in Tampere, Finland, is seeing significant success in ticket sales, attracting a broader sports audience beyond traditional volleyball fans. Riia Martinoja, the Secretary General of the championship, noted that the eight-day group stage matches are expected to be financially profitable.

Attendance has reached high levels, with the Tampere Arena—which holds nearly 11,000 spectators in volleyball configuration—seeing sold-out crowds, including for the match against Belgium. The tournament's success is attributed to increased marketing efforts and the strong performance of the Finnish national team, which recently won the European League and secured a place in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL).

Organizers hope the momentum will increase interest in the domestic Mestaruusliiga and encourage youth participation in junior volleyball programs. The event has also seen an overwhelming response from volunteers, with more people applying for work than could be accommodated.
