European Mobility Week 2026 initiatives in Poligyrvos and Limassol

The Municipality of Poligyrvos and the Municipality of Limassol are participating in the 2026 European Mobility Week, held from September 16 to 22. This year’s theme, ‘Mobility for Everyone,’ focuses on intergenerational justice and ensuring safe, sustainable, and affordable transport for all age groups.

In Poligyrvos, activities include a family cycling event on September 20 and a ‘Steps Challenge’ via the Walk15 app, where citizens can contribute to the municipality’s international ranking.

In Limassol, the event is co-organized with several local entities and emphasizes accessibility, cycling, and public transport. A central highlight is the ‘Car Free Day’ on September 20, which will see Gladstone Street closed to vehicles to encourage walking and slower, more conscious urban movement.
